Confident Voices at the Podium.png

Founded in 2022 by Alhaji “Haj” and Candra Jalloh, ICAN was created from a shared belief that every person deserves access, dignity, belonging, and meaningful opportunities to participate fully in community life.

ICAN is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

A Calling to Serve.

Our Story

Access becomes opportunity. Opportunity becomes belonging.

ICAN, Inc. was established in 2022 to remove barriers and create inclusive, person-centered opportunities for people of all abilities. Alhaji “Haj” and Candra Jalloh saw firsthand the challenges faced by people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families—whether limited access, social isolation, or a lack of inclusive programming.

Instead of accepting those barriers, they chose to build a different path—one rooted in compassion, community, and connection. ICAN exists to ensure that access becomes opportunity, and opportunity becomes belonging.

Our Mission

What we do today

To remove barriers and create inclusive opportunities that enrich the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them participate more fully in everyday community life.
